TerraPhoto - new generation software for orthorectification

TerraPhoto is the best solution to rectify aerial images to orthophotos by using ground laser points as projection surface.

TerraPhoto is specifically written for handling digital images, which are taken by medium format cameras during a laser-scanning mission. However it can optimised for processing images from large format cameras too. Any aerial photos can be applied as data source, if no digital frames are available.

As input for TerraPhoto you need raw images, trajectories, classified laser points of ground and the laboratory calibration file of your camera. Time labels connect the images with trajectories. To reach the best accuracy the final camera calibration will be done always by using tie points defined by TerraPhoto.

TerraPhoto has more simple and accurate approach to orthorectification than the competing packages. The complete orthorectification process can be performed without having any known points at the site.

The rectification routine has the following advantages:

  • Single pass, which directly creates a mosaic of orthorectified rasters.
  • Triangulated laser surface model accurately follows all terrain features. The system computes:
    • An elevation value for each pixel in the ortho image.
  • Automatic smoothing of color transitions between images.

TerraPhoto displays orthophotos as reference of MicroStation. A bundle of TerraModer and TerraPhoto (or TerraPhoto Viewer) let you drape orthophotos over a TIN of ground and llustrate your model by placing RPC cells on ground. For final display you can render scenes or create fly-throu naimations. Large size or high resolution of orthophotos and RPC cells do not jam your working.

The supported file formats include ECW, GeoTIFF, TIFF, BMP, CIT, COT, RLE, PIC, PCX, GIF, JPG2000 and PNG.
