Using Lidar data

TerraScan Viewer - designer's eays to see and use classified laser data points

TerraScan Viewer you view, use and output airborne scanned laser data for design purposes.

With these packages you can work simultaneously fast and easy with millions of classified laser points, TINs and high-resolution orthophotos. The only limit is the capacity of your PC. Laser data as reference offers for MicroStation users a new approach for a better design than ever before. If you work with some other CAD, please just filter out and export the data to your system.

Your approach may be all or some of the following:

A. Control the quality of final products:

  • View Lidar data points in 3D
  • Check the match of points from overlapping flight lines.
  • Control how well the Lidar points and orthophotos match
with each other and signals and profiles surveyed on the
    ground.
  • Control the differences between TINs created using different
data point types like all ground points versus “model-keypoints”.

B. Use the data for design:

  • Create a surface model from ground points for design
    purposes.
  • View objects like trees and buildings as Lidar point clouds
    without vectorising them to objects.
  • Use high-resolution orthophotos to substitute vectorised maps
or update the vectors of the maps.
  • Drape orthophotos and place RPC cells over the TIN. Display
the 3D-models as camera views or fly-through animations.
  • Extract colour values from orthophotos, which are read-in by TerraPhoto Viewer

Export the data to other CAD environments:
  • Transform data co-ordinates.
  • Divide large data sets into smaller blocks using your own
    geographical borders.
  • Thin the number of points by searching model-key-points.
  • Save ground points as lattice files in different file formats.
  • Reduce the resolution of the orthoimages.
  • Change the format and location of the images
